19th-century French Wicker Gathering Basket

Crafted from rattan rods this 19th-century French wicker basket is among John Derian's trove of handpicked vintage & antique goods. Used as an essential for harvesting fruits, vegetables, and flowers. With an intracate braided rim, and arch handle, the open-work base and sides allowed for airflow, which was ideal for fresh produce at the time.
