19th-century Painted Barrel

Included in John's carefully curated collection of antique furniture and oversized items is this 19th-century painted wood barrel. Typically used for storing and transporting wine, vinegar, oil, or dry good, these barrels were cylinder in shape for easy rolling, and have a hinged flat top or bung hole at its side, with painted wood staves, and metal handles and hoops.
