The Story

Within John Derian's curated collection of antique art and mirrors is this folk art mirror from the early 1900s. The frame itself falls under the category of "assemblage art"... a form of folk art where everyday "found objects" are used as decorative elements arranged into intricate patterns and often painted over. Beads along with variety of small, repurposed metal pieces, including keys, lock pieces, machinery parts, and other mini trinkets were used to create the composition.
